Biography

Bob Cooper is a freelance writer and editor who assists professional firms, major corporations and smaller companies in the development and management of both their internal and external communications, as well as their marketing materials. He serves as the Managing Editor of an internal online newsletter on behalf of an international law firm (1,400 attorneys worldwide), and recently completed a consulting assignment in which he served as the Managing Editor of a Fortune 500 company's Intranet site. 

He also has served as a speechwriter, Web content developer and communications consultant for a number of major corporations. 

Prior to devoting himself to strategic communications work, he was a freelance writer whose articles appeared in a number of national and local publications, including The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, GQ magazine, Men's Fitness, Travel & Leisure, Chicago magazine and several in-flight airline magazines. He also has held editorial staff positions at the Associated Press, the Chicago Tribune, Chicago magazine and the Bergen (N.J.) Record. 

He has taught advanced magazine writing at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism and holds a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University in New York City. He graduated with high honors from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana (BA, history), where he was the city editor and a columnist on the campus daily newspaper. Upon graduation, he served an internship with the United States Information Agency in Washington, D.C.
